Questions & Answers
Below we have collected the most frequently asked questions and answers to give you quick help if problems arise with your HydroJar. If you can’t find the answer here, you can search for more tips via the instructions under ‘Getting started’. You are always welcome to contact us via info@hydrojar.se if you cannot find the solution to your problem on our website.
What kind of nutrients can I use for my HydroJar?
A 50g powder nutrition sachet that works perfectly with your HydroJar is icluded in the kit. This nutrition is highly concentrated and therefore has a lower weight compared to liquid nutrition. This saves both the environment from unnecessary transport and you from unnecessary shipping costs. Less is more! When needed, more nutrients can be ordered separately here on the website.
What material can I use to cover the jar?
We suggest to use something you can reuse as aΒ compost bag for food waste or another thicker paper or prefered fabric to wrap around your jar. The most important is that you like the result and think it looks nice in your home!
When do I add nutrients?
For the first few weeks, the nutrients contained in the seed are sufficient to form a small seedling with two initial character leaves. After that, you need to add nutrients corresponding to the soil nutrients in the water for the continued favourable development of the plant’s growth. However, it is usually not a disaster if you add a low dose of nutrients right at start-up so as not to risk forgetting this important step after a few weeks. Our seeds and varieties are adapted to withstand this and should germinate and develop well anyway.
